Meet Josh Hochman
Welcome to my site!
I’ve been working as an engineer in manufacturing plants since 2013. My career passion lies in continuous improvement, with a focus on deep-diving human processes. I work every day to advocate for operators, designing systems that enable them to produce world-class, high quality products. My early career introduced me to the field of user experience design, leading me to pursue further studies in human-computer interaction and human factors engineering.

Fun Stuff!
Volunteering
Digital mentoring program that pairs employees with a student for discussion of STEM topics. Every few weeks, my student chooses a new focus article from a digital library, and we exchange letters talking about how engineering concepts from the article appear in everyday life.
This 3-bedroom residence provides short-term respite housing for intellectually and developmentally disabled families. Worked with a small team of volunteers to remove weeds, plant new flowers, rake leaves, and rebuild a wooden deck.
Volunteered for 2-hour blocks to support the Food Bank’s mission of providing food support to underprivileged families in southern New York and Central Maryland. Activities have included inspecting, sorting, and repacking food, cosmetics, and other products for distribution to at-risk children and parents.
Immense, annual 2-day music and activism festival run by The Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, an environmental conservation organization on a mission to protect the Hudson River. Working alongside a team of 1000 volunteer workers, my responsibilities have included stage crew/security, verifying and updating the volunteer roster, phone outreach to encourage/renew volunteer commitments, ticket sale data input, and document organization.
