Guide: Search Experience Design
A 1-year client-focused project exploring an up-and-coming learning management platform.
"Netflix For Training"

is a Texas-based tech startup offering a platform for client companies to host their training content.
They specialize in delivering short-form, primarily video-based content bytes, similar to Instagram. Their goal is to offer users story-driven content via a searchable library rather than requiring them to encounter it through a feed.

"How can I shape the search process to maximize the efficiency of digital on-the-job training?"
-My initial interpretation of the project charter
Problem Statement and Objectives
Guide’s platform currently lacks a way for users to search for content. Instead, videos appear via a non-personalized digital feed, making it difficult for them to locate content efficiently.
Our team aims to design an intuitive search experience that reduces the time to find content and increases first-search success rates, enhancing overall user satisfaction.
Our client wants:
- to motivate businesses to use their platform to host content
- ways to customize the search experience for each user
- to enable easy access to training content
- to make training entertaining and enjoyable
The customer needs:
- confidence they can find the content they want quickly and effectively on the platform

With this in mind, we defined our long term goal:
Help Guide users find relevant training content more quickly and with high accuracy.
...which we will explore over
5 sprints.
...aiming to deliver a digital prototype that Guide can implement in
2 WEEKS.
